Okay, let's assume it this way.
Peter Obi was arriving Benue and the sponsored thugs wielding rifles and other weapons stopped him.
He wanted to charge through but his security details advised him otherwise.
He insisted and took his team which was very few in number, and charged through the armed thugs.
The thugs resisted and the scuffle started. Of course, they easily outnumbered Peter Obi and his small team.
In the brief altercation, Esther lost her right eye, MamaPee lost all her front teeth, Mr Paul's head got broken, Zekeri got stabbed and Peter Obi got beaten mercilessly.
After the destruction, the security team comes on media to tell Nigerians that they actually warned Peter Obi against going against the thugs but he insisted and risked the lives of his team members and at the moment, no one knows wether Zekeri would make it out alive from the ICU.
The FG would come out and condemn the attack and condemn Peter Obi for being reckless.
Akin Tollgate would assess the situation and claim that's the reason why he left Obidient movement because Peter Obi is not actually thoughtful.
Omojuwa would write another epistle asking for the prosecution of Peter Obi for disturbing public peace.
The Benue govt. makes a case that one of the thugs was actually killed by Peter Obi's team and they're holding Peter Obi responsible.
The Channels TV and Seun immediately platforms the thug leader to narrate his distorted version while intermittently playing clips of Peter Obi fighting through the thug.
This same people attacking for not fighting today, would begin to write pages how Nelson Mandela achieved a lot without fighting.
They'll ask why should they vote in a man who can't handle his emotions.
The next week, Benue govt. with the help of FG frames Obi and sue him for violence and manslaughter. DSS is petitioned to detain Obi in the interest of public peace.
The next day, Peter Obi is picked up and detained in the room next to that of El Rufai.
Some youths come online and make noise for a few days, while APC floods the TVs with 'professors' and 'intellectuals' to defend the arrest.
And the whole opposition politics is messed up, and the ADC sacrifices Peter Obi for political gains. All hope is lost.
And 10 years later, Peter Obi is remembered as the man who stopped Nigerians from removing Tinubu.
Politics is politics.
Emotions are emotions.
Power is power.
Emotion is not power.
Every sensible human being understands the importance of Peter Obi's refrain in the face of sponsored violence.

I've just come out of a conversation with a contact who is engaged in the Sahel, and the one piece of advise I have for the multiple Burkinabés from media, academia and civil society who are currently being contacted by the usual suspects to lend their vocal and intellectual support to the artificial anti-Traoré bandwagon that Paris and DC are putting together is this:
Remember that there is nothing special about you.
The same way they're reaching out to you and acting as if they respect you and your work, is the same way they've reached out to many of us across the sub-region. I promise you are not special to them at all. You're just useful. For now. The respect and reverence they are treating you with is the same affected "respect" they have bamboozled us with for 500 years, because they know that nothing gets a black man's pussy wet like receiving "respect" and "honour" from his European overlords.
They did the same thing in Nigeria between 2011 and 2015. Every squirrel, antelope, Aisha, Dipo, and Japheth who offered even the mildest criticism of Goodluck Jonathan was immediately carried aloft and paraded around as a champion of this and that by the oyibos. It didn't take them long to figure out that "Jonathan Must Go" was their ticket to what seemed like everlasting favours, treats, and funding from oyibo, and they all started unanimously pushing to oust the president that took Nigeria to #1 economy in Africa and 3rd fastest growing on the planet.
Many of these people didn't even dislike Goodluck Jonathan - they just saw that pretending as if Nigeria was being ruled by Pol Pot was their ticket out of poverty and obscurity. Some of them built this career grift in 24 months all the way from Twitter into Chevening scholarships, IVLPs, Mandela Washington Fellowships, speaking appearances in Taiwan, Canadian passports, etc etc. But those were only the lucky few. The vast majority of this demographic got discarded like a used pure water bag immediately the oyibos got their desired regime change.
Since they got their regime change, Nigeria has fallen off a cliff from #1 to #4 in Africa, losing over 60% of GDP in just 10 years. I will repeat that for emphasis. While other countries in Africa grew at 2-5% annually over the past 10 years, Nigeria SHRANK by over 60%, and you can now find Nigerians desperately searching for a better life in Burkina Faso, Algeria, Mali, Libya, Tunisia, Liberia, and even Niger which used to hold the title of "poorest country in the world." Most of the loudmouths who helped make this a reality have fallen back into obscurity and poverty.
Many of them are in their 40s and 50s now, and they're still busy chasing gigs and hunting for $1000 here, $2,500 there. A few of them did become puppet unicorns, but the vast majority are back to being absolutely nobody 10 years after they allowed foreign attention and dollars to override their natural caution and stampede them into the 2nd worst ever national mistake in Nigeria's history after the completely unnecessary civil war.
Many of them walk around in a constant state of confusion now, unable to understand why their lives are much worse nowadays, and the oyibos who seemingly cared so much about whatever they had to say between 2011 and 2015 are no longer answering the phone or replying messages. If you allow these same oyibos to inflate your egos and use it to push your mouths into parroting their narrative for their own geopolitical goals, the exact same thing will happen to you.
Before you allow the thirst for white people's validation and money to shape your responses to the questions they are currently deluding you with, just ask yourself this one question:
All those years when Burkina Faso was the deadest country on the planet and Blaise Campaore's regime was shooting Burkinabés dead in the street, where were all these bleeding heart white people? Why didn't they care then?
Why do they care about Ibrahim Traoré now? What is this REALLY about?

We are currently pursuing a case for clients/children who were thrown out of their father’s house which they are legally entitled to live in based on their father’s Will.
A court in Nigeria made an order which only gave their stepmother ACCESS to the same property.
How a warrant of possession was obtained based on an order of access remains a mystery, given that no order for possession or eviction was made against the children.
Guess what?
Even the judgement was given in a fundamental rights application.
How is access to matrimonial home a fundamental rights issue?
We applied for reassignment of the application seeking to set aside the eviction, a year and months after we submitted the application we are still waiting for it to be treated despite repeated reminders.
I can’t give specifics and can’t say more than this.
When I see some lawyers online pretend as if there are no issues in the judiciary I get irritated.
If you have been defamed, seek redress in the court and do so lawfully. How can you use oppression to seek justice?
The invasion of his personal space, harassment and brutalization of his staff, seizure of their phones, forcefully taking him to Ekiti state, denying him bail and then throwing him in prison.
Who then is going to pay for the crimes committed here in the name of seeking justice?

I just spoke with Kunle Akinwale, the Commissioner of @PoliceNG Ekiti State Command. He admits that they arrested @DeleFarotimi and that he's being driven from Lagos to Ekiti by road.
I told him categorically that this constituted an abuse of @PoliceNG's powers and that this was a civil case that ought not to have warranted police intervention.
When he admitted to me that they were driving him from Lagos, I asked him repeatedly, “ Did he kill someone?”
He even said he was still under investigation for “cybercrime.” this illegal arrest was staged by one of Nigeria’s most senior lawyers, Afe Babalola SAN

STATEMENT BY THE NIGERIAN BAR ASSOCIATION ON THE ARREST OF DELE FAROTIMI AND ALLEGED INVASION OF HIS LAW FIRM
The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) @NigBarAssoc is gravely concerned about the arrest of Dele Farotimi @DeleFarotimi on allegations of libel, as well as the reported invasion of his law firm and the harassment of lawyers and staff within the premises. These actions constitute a troubling breach of the rule of law and the sanctity of the legal profession.
While the Nigerian Police Force has the authority to investigate crimes, this power must be exercised within the confines of the law and in respect of offenses recognized under Nigerian law.
We must reiterate that the alleged offense of libel, for which Dele Farotimi was reportedly arrested, is not recognized as a criminal offense under the laws of Lagos State. The Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011 repealed the criminalization of defamation by omitting it from its provisions. This progressive legislative move aligns with global best practices, which treat defamation as a civil wrong rather than a criminal offense.
The Supreme Court in Aviomoh v. Commissioner of Police & Anor (2021) affirmed this position. Justice Helen Ogunwumiju, JSC, unequivocally held that defamation ceased to be a criminal offense in Lagos State following the enactment of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011. This authoritative pronouncement leaves no room for doubt.
Furthermore, under Sections 4 and 24 of the Police Act, 2020, the Nigerian Police Force is mandated to act only about conduct that constitutes a criminal offense under Nigerian law. Arresting individuals for non-criminal matters, such as defamation in Lagos State, is not only unlawful but also a blatant violation of the principles of legality and the rule of law.
Of equal concern is the reported invasion of Dele Farotimi’s law firm and the harassment of lawyers and staff within the premises. Reports that phones were confiscated from lawyers and staff during this invasion highlight a severe disregard for the sanctity of legal practice and the constitutional rights of individuals. The legal profession is a cornerstone of justice and democracy, and any attempt to undermine its independence is a direct assault on the rule of law.
The NBA unequivocally condemns the invasion of Mr. Farotimi’s law firm, the harassment of its lawyers and staff, and the unlawful seizure of their phones. Such actions are not only a violation of the constitutional right to dignity and privacy but also an affront to the independence of the legal profession.
We, therefore demand the immediate release of Dele Farotimi, as his arrest lacks any basis under the laws of Lagos State. The authorities must swiftly launch an investigation into the invasion of his law firm, with the findings made public and those responsible held accountable.
We urge law enforcement agencies to prioritize the principles of legality, fairness, and respect for human rights in their operations. These principles are foundational to justice, democracy, and the protection of citizens’ freedoms.

I have been in contact with @DeleFarotimi in the last few days.
During the course of our last conversation over the weekend, he updated me on efforts by the @PoliceNG to arrest him in respect of a petition which he said has been written against him by Chief Afe Babalola, SAN.
The petition is said to contain allegation of defamation of character.
According to Comrade Farotimi, Chief Afe Babalola SAN is coming after him because of the contents a his recently published book titled: NIGERIA AND ITS CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM.
In the book, he narrated his experiences with the justice system in Nigeria, including his personal experience in a case he was involved in some years ago involving the Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
Based on what he told me, very highly placed individuals in government have shown sinister interest in the case and are trying to deal with him.
His immediate family has no access to him at this time and does not know where he has been taken to.
I call on the Nigeria Police Force to grant him access to his family and his lawyers and release Mr Dele Farotimi immediately.
The use of the police to pursue private interest is unacceptable. The police is supposed to serve public interest.
AFE BABALOLA, an old war-horse whose space is education and TONY ELUMELU who runs a bank with several fee deductions from people’s funds will write petitions to the ROGUE Nigerian Police Force under “Tinubu-made-me” Egbetokun, and make an arrest of a free-spirited and strong voice of the Nigerian People in DELE FAROTIMI.

Please, let’s stop saying he was arrested. Uncle Dele @delefarotimi was kidnapped nio. They were not wearing uniforms, except for their jackets that said Rapid Response Squad. They were carrying guns, and they forcefully took everybody’s phone before taking him with them. They beat up one woman, and they threatened to shoot his lawyer who was with him. This one is not an arrest, it is kidnapping 🚶🏿♀️
Temporarily coming out of my self-imposed Nigerian Public Affairs Twitter exile to say that many if not most legal professionals in Nigeria are some of the country's weakest links and are among its dumbest people.
Why am I saying this?
Think of the law as a basketball rim. FIBA regulations state that the rim must be exactly 3 metres high with a diameter of exactly 45cm. These are the dimensions required to maintain the competitive sanctity of the game. If the rim were any wider, people could just spam 3-pointers from all over the court and the game would lose meaning. If it were any higher, only South Sudanese would be able to play the game. If it were any lower, it would be too easy to block or dunk, also making the game lose meaning.
In Nigeria, instead of keeping the rim at regulation dimensions, the rim is rather mounted on a moving backboard that can be 2 metres or 5 metres high, depending on what side of the bed the referee woke up on. The match commissioner also has the ability to expand the rim diameter to 70cm, depending on which team he wants to win. Effectively, there is no sanctity of the law in Nigeria because there is in fact, no law.
Laws in Nigeria are deliberately written in an infuriatingly ambiguous, awkwardly-worded way, so that they can be interpreted as generously or as fastidiously as the authorities deem fit. Nothing is unambiguously legal or illegal in Nigeria. There is NOTHING that anyone can do in Nigeria that is 100% guaranteed to result in a specific legal outcome 100% of the time. No standards are fixed, no enforcement is uniform. Everything is subjective and movable.
In this situation, you would expect that lawyers of all people, would understand how the lack of clearly definable law in Nigeria makes them existentially threatened, but you see our brothers who wear coloured wigs and gowns? They think that being able to score a 3 pointer when the rim height is reduced to 2 metres and rim diameter is increased to 70cm makes them "smart." They think that being able to successfully argue that 2+2 is 4 today, then argue that 2+2 is 22 tomorrow makes them "legal luminaries."
Instead of understanding the existence of a clearly defined set of legal standards as the only thing that makes their profession viable in the long run, they are busy colluding with the police and judiciary to lower the backboard or raise it to 5 metres, depending on what Jankara Market judgment they are hoping to procure.
That's why it's only in Nigeria that you'll see a Senior Advocate of Nigeria go to court and argue that someone's expired passport means that they no longer have citizenship of the country that issued the passport. Now they're doing it again with Dele Farotimi's abduction. One of them has started posting threads about why writing a book that a specific individual feels defamed by can be treated as a criminal matter, not the civil matter that even my dead grandma can see that it is.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH VICE PRESIDENT SHETTIMA
Vice President Kashim Shettima can pretend for all he wants. I know he is not a happy man. He feels undervalued and not being carried along. He feels he has been cut off and reduced to a mere aide status. I get it.
But why waste our resources and jet out when the President goes on a trip?
A whooping N21billion tax payers money was spent to build him an official residence. He has not spent one night there. He has not even moved in there. He has continued to stay at the old VP house, otherwise known as “Aguda House.” Why?
And to demonstrate how unhappy he has been, once President Bola Tinubu leaves on a foreign trip, Shettima finds where to go simply because power was not transmitted to him.
Few days ago, Shettima left for Côte d'Ivoire as soon as the President left for France. And less than two months ago, he was in Sweden as soon as the President left for the UK.

TINUBU, AKPABIO ON WAR PATH OVER N687BILLION PADDED INTO THE 2024 BUDGET
Things appear to be falling apart for President Bola Tinubu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio over the N687billion padded into the Nigeria’s 2024 Budget of N27.5trillion.
Insiders told me that Tinubu is angry that while Akpabio told him each of the 109 Senators and 360 Rep Members were getting N3billion and N1billion each for their Zonal Intervention Project Funds, ZIPF, making a total of N687billion padded into the 2024 budget, only N250million and N200million got to the Lawmakers.
Investigations revealed that bulk of the funds which should have gone to the Lawmakers for ZIPF, were split into different agencies to be awarded as contracts to Akpabio’s friends and cronies.
For instance, Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong, Chairman Senate Committee on Niger Delta, who is a lackey of Akpabio, used his position to ensure that most of the padded budget funds were rolled into the NDDC Budget yet to be passed.
More than half of the N1.9trillion 2024 NDDC Budget document currently in my possession are for projects in Akwa Ibom state where Akpabio has special interests.
The 2024 NDDC Budget which I am currently studying is one of the most scandalous piece of document I have ever seen.
Meanwhile, about 78 Senators have indicated interest to support the impeachment of Akpabio. Amongst them are the South West Caucus members who are only waiting for the go ahead of the President before they can proceed with the plan.
Yesterday in federal court, the CIA, FBI, and DEA filed a memorandum opposing our motion for summary judgment in the FOIA disclosure case about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s drug trafficking investigation records, where we are seeking to have the redactions removed from the (partially released) files.
In the filing, the CIA effectively confirmed that Nigeria's sitting president is an active CIA asset. An excerpt from the CIA filing reads:
"Human sources can be expected to furnish information to the CIA only when they are confident the CIA can and will do everything in its power to prevent the public disclosure of their cooperation. In the case of a person who has been cooperating with the CIA, official confirmation of that cooperation could cause the targets to take retaliatory action against that person or against their family or friends. It also places in jeopardy every individual with whom the cooperating individual has had contact. Thus, the indiscretion of one source in a chain of intelligence sources can damage an entire spectrum of sources. As such, confirming or denying the existence of records on a particular foreign national, like Tinubu, reasonably could be expected to cause damage to U.S. national security by indicating whether or not the CIA maintained any human intelligence sources related to Tinubu, and identifying any access or lack of access any such sources had to intelligence concerning him."
And if that wasn't bad enough, the DEA's filing included a paragraph that literally said: "We oppose full, unredacted disclosure of the DEA's Bola Tinubu heroin trafficking investigation records because we believe that while Nigerians have a right to be informed about what their government is up to, they do not have a right to know what their president is up to."
At this point, I think there is nothing more to be said about the direct role that the US government plays in ensuring that Africa is constantly destabilised and afflicted with terrible leaders who create poverty and devastation.
