@grodriguezlemus Creating physical and time boundaries! I went to my campus office everyday from 9-5 to work. I never looked at my dissertation at home or on the weekends. This separation and routine kept me focused and motivated during my work time. Good luck finding what works for you!
To all PhD Students, you're almost certainly doing a lot better than you think you are.
You just don't see it because you're constantly focusing on what's next and not seeing what you've already achieved.

@_KellyOC @pshhkels My massage therapist asked me if I played college volleyball bc my shoulders were so tight π At its worst, the pain would cause my entire arm to numb. After trying PT, I was diagnosed w/ chronic pain. Even w/ pain management, I sometimes physically cannot work on my dissertation
@DrZoffness I hear you - itβs so hard to walk away from the work and listen to our bodies instead of our minds. We arenβt taught to do that in academia!
After 5 years of grad school, I finally learned that "lemme finish this one thing and then I'll eat" is an incredibly ineffective approach to work π€¦ββοΈ#eatlunch#phdlife#gradschool
.@AAUPPurdue is collecting feedback on faculty/student/staff concerns about Purdue. We want to get a sense of what the big issues are.
The form is anonymous. We are not collecting emails. We'll share out what we learn. Please forward/RT.

Things I did this week to avoid working on my dissertation:
1. Deleted old files on my google drive
2. Cleaned out 5 years of trash from my office
3. Took surveys online for other people's dissertations
4. Started job apps

Immensely proud of my BESTIE for all her hard work over the years! @Aashnacat has already made such a meaningful impact on the counseling psych world and will continue to do so for years to come. And I CANNOT WAIT to keep cheering her on through it all! #PHinisheD#HotDocSummer
Reading a student's final paper as he describes the confidence he gained in my course helped him to speak up in a technical engineering class that he previously felt "not smart enough" in and to suggest setting goals with his senior design group #gushing π₯°π₯°
