The autistic instinct to see your simple, reasonable and benign requests as unduly burdensome and unworthy of being aired, because for years, you’ve been gaslit into believing that you should be silent, and that asking for tiny adjustments to meet your basic needs is too much.
@laurenancona My success was limited before my diagnosis at 26 because I didn't know myself. He's got a 14 year headstart on knowing himself better. Learning how best to support yourself and learning self acceptance through understanding yourself better is the real success.
It REALLY started when the Nazis started singling out a minority group & telling everyone else that they were the reason why their lives & everything in the country had gone to shit.

@KatyMontgomerie @ovaljess5 I thought cis meant that you identify with the gender you were assigned at birth? I'm non-binary. I'm not trans, but I'm not cis either.
@dustychipura Prepare food and/or cook meals for me. Obviously as long as they take my preferences into account and learn what I like or don't like etc. But also suggesting recipes and cooking new things I wouldn't even think of. My diet has become my number one issue over the past year.
@LucyKWills @HesterStarling @AutismTalkAspie I mean, it's not like autism already has been majorly affected by a large medical belief that was highly inaccurate and caused major issues for decades. Oh wait... (although, to be fair, I see less and less comments about vaccines theses days)
The internet is a cesspit of people stating their opinions as fact simply because that's how they view it, often only taking complimentary things to back them up, whilst ignoring anything that doesn't mesh with their idea of things. Misinformation is rife because of this.
@Galaxibrain I also strongly believe that when you have both, they combine to form something that's not quite either one. You see this clearly when talking to people who only have autism or adhd. Their experiences are often entirely different and unrelatable at times.
@Galaxibrain Sure, there are certain bits that are very clearly related to one or the other, but not always. Sometimes it's impossible to tell why you're agitated and freaking out, especially in the moment when dealing with those emotions and feelings. Knowing the difference is not common.
Long story short, a trans woman said "Oh I'll just wipe my hands on my jeans" to someone in the ladies toilet, and they went running to the Daily Mail to allege that she said "I'll wipe my hands on my penis".
Embarrassing, gutter journalism.
@KatyMontgomerie I've not experienced it first hand as such, but the hate towards men who step outside of their gender boundaries and experiment with things need to stop. I spent years in the closet more than I should've due to folks within the LGBT+ community being initially hostile about this.
@KatyMontgomerie Skirts are comfortable and fun and great to wear, why should they be locked behind a gender label? Kilts are already a thing and are basically skirts anyway. Tons of different cultures have men wearing all manner of dresses and skirts. It shouldn't be a thing for it to be weird.
