Just like my first sentence reads, it’s an insane take. I don’t entirely agree with it, and we can’t deny that it undermines meritocracy—true meritocracy rewards individual talent and granting unearned privileges to individuals because of the circumstances of their birth contradicts this principle.

I also believe individual should have rights to what they do with their wealth and this “insane take” denies them that—restricting this infringes freedom of choice.

This is also related to an insane take I read recently that—the abolition of inheritance would solve most of society’s problems. Every wealth acquired by an individual should be redistributed upon their death. This, by a mile would eliminate dynastic wealth, force each generation to build from scratch and create true meritocracy.

In this podcast episode that I just finished listening to, he answered a question about what he’d do if he ruled the world. He said he was going to ensure that everyone’s bank account randomly becomes another person’s own every few months. He backed it up with this logic-
