RESILIENCE will get you to REHOBOTH
While in my study yesterday morning, I observed a bird had began to build a nest around my window. I dismantled and threw away every inch of grass that made up the half done nest and cleaned the window. While at it the bird came and flew away. Fast forward to this morning, my eyes just went to that same window now and to my utter amazement I saw a fully made nest (see pic). What struck me immediately is the resilience of the bird for coming back to start the nest afresh. This is the first lesson here for me. If an animal can display such resilience, then you need to go back to that proposal, business plan, application,school etc. Failure is not lack of success, failure is when you give up. Like that bird go back and start afresh or continue from when you stopped not minding the opposition except the opposition is meant to communicate something (Lesson for another day). Isaac refused to be weary of opposition and contentions until he had “Rehoboth”.

Lesson two is to be mindful of not just what we do but where we do it. The resilient efforts of this bird will likely end in futility except I allow the nest. The parable of the sower in Matthew 13 teaches us not just to sow but watch out for the good ground that will support our seed and bring fruitfulness. A good farmer must add to his good seed, good ground, resilience in order to succeed. Despite being defeated by Ai the first time, Joshua and the Israelites went back and wiped them completely the next time.

Thomas Edison, Abraham Lincoln and Nigeria’s “ Sai Baba” all tried severally before attaining their goal. I dare you to try again and again and again.
