A few months ago, Unitree's humanoid robots were dancing Yangko at China's Spring Festival Gala.
Now they're performing on America's Got Talent.
Chinese dancer Wu Yufei and a troupe of Unitree robots earned four “Yes” votes from the judges, advancing to the next round.
The most striking part isn't that robots can dance. It's that we're already starting to accept them as part of the cast!
Zimbabweans we need to have a conversation:
We need to look East to Mozambique and de-invest from South Africa!!
Durban Port is 2000km from Harare which is SADC Distribution Hub while Beira Port where we have a harbour courtesy of Beira Corridor is 460km from Harare.
For international trade, distribution and logistics, Beira makes more sense than South Africa Durban Harbour. It is closer, has less toll gates and is nearer to Asia and Middle East compared to Durban Harbour.
There are 16 toll gates between Harare and Durban, and there are 6 toll gates between Harare and Beira. Any logistics company will this as a no brainer
Zimbabwe and Mozambique already have a standing bilateral trade agreements and also the Beira Corridor agreement in place. We just need to modernise the Beira Port handling systems, dredge the Beira Port to deepen the waters and improve the road infrastructure.
The Beira to Msasa Pipeline and Feruka Refinery are full functional. We just need to restore the railway network system and ferry our commodities via Beira .
South Africa comes with high import and export duty at Beitbridge Border Post, high toll gates fees, high weighbridge fees, corrupt traffic police, xenophobic gangsters like ADF and Mooi River gangs. It is wiser to de-invest and redirect our international trade via Mozambique.

In a canteen back in the 1980s, three employees at drug giant Pfizer decided to break away to start what became Zimbabwe’s first privately held black pharmaceutical firm.
Tobias Dzangare, Celestine Gadzikwa and Glory Zata founded Varichem in 1985. Its first product, Prazosin, launched in 1988. But they faced resistance.
“Most wholesalers and pharmacists were not interested in our product because of prejudice from our former employer.”
Today, Varichem Pharmaceuticals is one of Zimbabwe’s biggest manufacturers and exporters of medicines.
A Zimbabwe court has reserved judgment on controversial constitutional changes that could extend President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s rule, with critics calling it a power grab.
Al Jazeera’s Haru Mutasa reports.
