Nothing scares a media buyer more than telling them you turned off all targeting and let the algorithm cook.
The ones still stacking interests in 2026 get genuinely angry about it.
Broad is winning and they know it.
I don’t give a shit about CTR, hook rate, or hold rate.
Show me CPA, traffic-to-order rate, and ROAS.
Advertising has proven this over and over. Top-of-funnel metrics have zero correlation with real business results.
Complexity doesn’t mean effectiveness.
A simple piece of advice like eating a high-protein, low-carb breakfast can be life-changing.
Chase simplicity. That’s where 80% of the results come from.
Two people can perform the same act.
Yet their internal and external outcomes can be completely different.
Because an action without essence is nothing more than imitation.
Motion without meaning.
Most people aren’t stuck.
They’re stalling.
Waiting for the perfect version.
The perfect moment.
The perfect plan.
But perfection is just fear in a prettier outfit.
Start.
Ship.
Refine.
That’s how you move.
After 5 years of performance marketing, here’s what no one told you.
I’ve worked with over 32 clients, with an average retention of 1.2 years.
Here’s what I’ve learned (and what you need to know):
⎯
1) It’s not the ads that aren’t working; your offer sucks. Add scarcity, urgency, and present it in a way that triggers the fear of loss.
2) Different touchpoints through different channels beat multiple touchpoints on the same channel. Don’t rely on just one platform. Diversify your approach.
3) The hook is 99% of the job when advertising.
Put enough work into it. A great hook is your ticket to engagement and how you filter your audience.
4) Don’t waste time digging into GA4. This shouldn’t be an ongoing issue. Pull the necessary data and create a dashboard using Looker Studio. It’ll save you tons of time and energy.
5) It’s not the algorithm fluctuating your results; it’s the market and seasonality. Behave accordingly and respond. The shifts are inevitable.
6) Testing is 80% of the job. Know what to test, how to test it, and do it as much as possible. The more you test, the better your results.

Why I stuck with performance marketing:
Not because it’s easy or glamorous.
But because it’s one of the most direct ways to drive real, measurable change in people’s businesses.
And that’s what keeps me going.
There’s good and bad in every marketing strategy.
This is the one I chose.
