What happened at @startupfest yesterday was antisemitism. Pure & simple. Disguised under a thin veil of advocacy, and everyone in the room saw right through it.
I was on stage with Georges St-Pierre talking about entrepreneurship. Not politics. A man burst in screaming horrible accusations at me anyway. Third time in 2 years, including at the opening of a Jewish community centre.
My parents were in the front row. I'll never forget their faces.
When the target is always the Jew and never the topic, it's not advocacy. It's hate.
The room booed him down and cheered as he was walked out. I'm grateful for that.
Hate got escorted out. We got right back to building.
The crisis of antisemitism in Canada today demands a targeted response. It also requires all of us to raise our voices in disgust and defiance when we see the ugly face of antisemitism.
Because Canada’s promise is a country where Jewish Canadians can be visibly, fully, joyfully Jewish in public life.

@jellibeans123@fordnation You’re an idiot. He says he wants kids to be *able* to watch. Nobody is forcing kids to watch. I hope your kids read better than you do :)
@gary_srp These incidents arise because smaller incidents are tolerated. Canada needs to stop tolerating daily anti-semitism. This includes demonstrations, graffiti and other actions that masquerade as anti-Israel when in fact they serve to intimidate and terrorize the Jewish community.
@atRachelGilmore But you are anti-Semitic and seemingly singularly focused on being anti-Israel all too frequently. You are a horrible journalist and deserve what you receive.
CRA going after a third Jewish charity. Service Canada scrubbing Israel off passports. Global Affairs listing the embassy address in “Palestine.”
But don’t worry, I’m sure all of this is just one big, totally innocent coincidence. https://t.co/r7cf1omgv6
It is upon us all to denounce this "demonstration". If we do not, this will become normalized. We cannot continue to allow radical Islamists free reign in our streets.
For those who support the radical Islamists and believe it is acceptable to call for the deaths of Jews, this is the wrong country for you.
@gary_srp@MayorOliviaChow@TPSMyronDemkiw
This is lunacy. How can these paid agitators be allowed to block critical transportation routes like this? We cannot tolerate this insanity anymore.

There’s something about Israel that makes people uncomfortable, and it’s not what they say it is.
They’ll point to politics, settlements, borders, and wars. But scratch beneath the outrage, and you’ll find something deeper. A discomfort not with what Israel does, but with what Israel is.
A nation this small should not be this strong. Period.
Israel has no oil. No special natural resources. A population barely the size of a mid-sized American city. They are surrounded by enemies. Hated in the United Nations. Targeted by terror. Condemned by celebrities. Boycotted, slandered, and attacked.
And still, they thrive like there’s no tomorrow.
In military. In medicine. In security. In technology. In agriculture. In intelligence. In morality. In sheer, unbreakable will.
They turn desert into farmland.
They make water from air.
They intercept rockets in mid-air.
They rescue hostages under the nose of the world’s worst regimes.
They survive wars that were supposed to wipe them out, and win.
The world watches this and can’t make sense of it.
So they do what people do when they witness strength they can’t understand.
They assume it must be cheating.
It must be American aid.
It must be foreign lobbying.
It must be oppression.
It must be theft.
It must be some dark trick that gave the Jews this kind of power.
It must be blackmail.
Because heaven forbid it’s something else.
Heaven forbid it’s real.
Heaven forbid it’s earned.
Or worse, destined.
The Jewish people were supposed to disappear a long, long time ago. That’s how the story of exiled, enslaved, hated minorities is supposed to end. But the Jews didn’t disappear. They actually came home, rebuilt their land, revived their language, and brought their dead back to life — in memory, in identity, and in strength.
That’s not normal.
It’s not political.
It’s biblical.
There’s no cheat code that explains how a group of people return to their homeland after 2,000 years.
There is no rational path from gas chambers to global influence.
And there is no historical precedent for surviving the Babylonians, the Romans, the Crusaders, the Inquisition, the pogroms, and the Holocaust, and still showing up to work on Monday in Tel Aviv.
Israel doesn’t make sense.
Unless you believe in something beyond the math.
This is what drives the world crazy. Because if Israel is real, if this improbable, ancient, hated nation is somehow still chosen, protected, and thriving, then maybe God isn’t a myth after all.
Maybe He’s still in the story.
Maybe history isn’t random.
Maybe evil doesn’t get the last word.
Maybe the Jews are not just a people… but a testimony.
That’s what they can’t stand.
Because once you admit that Israel’s survival isn’t just impressive, but divine, everything changes. Your moral compass has to reset. Your assumptions about history, power, and justice collapse. You realize you’re not watching the end of an empire. You’re witnessing the beginning of something eternal.
So they deny it.
They smear it.
And rage against it.
Because it’s easier to call a miracle “cheating” than to face the possibility that God keeps His promises.
And He’s keeping them still.
It seems the fingers of Melanie Joly, Anita Anand, Mark Carney and other senior Liberals were broken today.
They have not problem falsely accusing Israel of bombing a hospital and denouncing them, but if an Israeli hospital is bombed by Iran, silence.
@DougAMacgregor You are dumber than expected or deliberately trying to pain a completely untrue picture of how this played out, the current state of affairs and the knowledge and involvement of the American government before Israel commenced this activity. Shut up.
@MarkJCarney@Keir_Starmer@EmmanuelMacron This statement is shocking.
You neglect mention of the hostages until the end of the first paragraph but begin by criticizing our democratic ally. Your values are messed up and your analysis is simple.
The Wall Street Journal obtained exclusive documents from within Gaza, which were verified by several Arab intelligence and diplomatic sources, about Hamas’s real intention behind the October 7 attacks. The Islamist group was primarily concerned with sabotaging the prospect of Saudi-Israeli normalization, which it felt would be a significant setback to itself and the Palestinian issue, despite promises by Saudi Arabia that Palestinian statehood would be a precondition of normalization, Hamas’s Sinwar and senior leadership did not trust Saudi promises and decided to activate attack plans that had been in the works for years.
Before using Gaza, Hamas wanted to escalate violence in the West Bank and Jerusalem to torpedo Saudi-Israeli normalization. But when that failed, the Gaza Strip became the fulcrum of the terror organizations’ hopes that it could undo what at the time seemed like an inevitability. Interestingly, the documents also revealed that Hamas advertised a job position or possible positions to include grassroots organizing against normalization with Israel and to employ tactics of boycott of entities that were in support of normalizing with Israel.
This is a massive and significant revelation that proves an incredibly disturbing fact and reality: October 7 was not about breaking the blockade, breaking out of the Gaza prison or “concentration camp,” responding to injustices in the West Bank or Jerusalem, or seeking to promote Palestinian rights and statehood. It was a very specific and nefarious political action by a deadly terror organization to derail a political development that it felt was not advantageous to its objectives.
This proves all Hamas’s critics right, that Gaza did not need to be destroyed on October 7 for the terrorist group to make a point. As many others and I have repeatedly stated, Gaza was a beautiful place that meant so much for its people, and Hamas could have made different choices to prevent the territory’s annihilation by the most far-right government in Israel’s history.
To all who incessantly excuse the terrorist organization: the evidence is before you to realize that your beloved “resistance” organization is a fraud and that justifications for October 7 that got 60,000 Palestinians killed are nothing but a web of lies by an ISIS-like Jihadi organization which is largely rejected by Palestinians in Gaza.
There’s no Charter right to block intersections. There’s no Charter right to target a restaurant with smoke bombs. That’s mischief. Yet Toronto Police let this happen week after week. At some point, they should do what we pay them handsomely to do and enforce the law.
@octal Not at all reasonable. They threaten those around them, incite and encourage violence and prohibit others from accessing public infrastructure. They also block traffic during rush hour. This is unreasonable, criminal civil disobedience
