“But Latin is a dead language!”
Ah, but English is an imprecise and slippery language, and therefore inferior to Latin when it comes to theology.
Examples: Love. Substance. Spirit.
1
I love ice cream.
I love God.
2
Substance abuse.
God the Son is of the same divine substance as God the Father
3
The cheerleaders promote school spirit.
The Holy Spirit is a divine person.
Conclusion
All three examples (love, substance, Spirit) reveal major slippage in the English language that can lead to heresy.
This is why we must retain Latin in the liturgy (as Vatican 2 clearly commands) and Latin for theology.
Mel Gibson lost his home in the wildfires, yet his response was strikingly calm.
“God gives, God takes. We come in with nothing, and we go out with nothing.”
There’s a lesson there.
@MaroonAlley@j_fishback you work for a communist system that indoctrinated american children to not think for themselves.
1 in 10 children encounter sex abuse in the public school system. ONE IN TEN.
