I played baseball when I was growing up. I was very competitive (and very much an asshole) and I got into Yu-Gi-Oh when it came out. Once baseball was over I played Yu-Gi-Oh to scratch the itch, stopped in 2011, tried to pick it up again but Pokemon TCG really grabbed at me.

I’ve always been curious the % of Pokemon players that grew up playing competitive sports, and if they believe this feeds that same competitive itch, if it makes their skillset better than an average player, or if they feel like they’re more mentally prepared than their opponent bc of that background.
