A big shout out to the Coimbatore Forest Division team,Tamil Nadu which worked 24*7 to revive a sick wild Female elephant found lying in lateral recumbency position unable to get up. It was heartbreaking to see her 3 months old baby roaming around her in distress. The team has lifted the elephant with a crane to make her stand and provided all necessary treatment. Mother elephant is doing well and her baby is happily feeding. Though the elephant is doing well,we need to watch out for her health. Very proud of your work CF Ramasubramanian, DFO Jeyaraj, Vets Dr Sukumar, Dr Rajesh and Dr Priyanka. Range officers Arun and Thirumurugan and all other forest staff #TNForest #Elephants

Lantana impacts all wildlife including birds as it decreases forest diversity adversely impacting ground nesting birds like Lapwings. We have cleared Lantana in about 3300 Hectares from forest areas though it is a long battle against its fast spread #TNForest #lantanainvasion Video- Arunkumar/Sebastian @therealeleco

Birds, bears,Nilgiri Tahrs and many other animals enjoy these wild berries/jamuns (Siru Naval) found in native Shola forests. These incredible plant species provide food to wildlife, sustaining life even in harsh weather conditions. Thats why biodiversity is critical for our planet #biodiversity @UNBiodiversity
How does India manage to be both extremely populous and biodiverse? Mostly, through our ability to share space with nature around us.
