Anthony Edwards questioning the Timberwolves' direction may not mean much today.
But if those concerns continue to grow, the Hawks could find themselves in a very interesting position down the road.

More picks doesn’t always mean a better outcome.
If the Thunder come calling about the No. 8 pick, the Hawks may have more to lose than gain by moving down in the draft.

@_JrdnThms@Boomstik45 Yes, that’s why I agreed it’s not a certainty they will draft a guard at No. 8 but we know it’s at least in the cards obviously.
LA has significant amount of cap space this offseason so it’ll be very tough to pull that off.
Austin Reaves is reportedly seeking a max contract worth up to 5 years, $239.25 million from the Lakers, and it’s uncertain whether he would be willing to take a hometown discount, per @BA_Turner

@_JrdnThms@Boomstik45 I don’t think it’s a certainty they will either. Mara at No. 8 is a real thing but most talks have been pointing towards drafting a guard.
If Onsi is available to sign Reaves without breaking the bank I’m on board.
@_JrdnThms@Boomstik45 By "true PG" is having the capability to be a full time ball handler. Don’t see that in Reaves. His turnover average has increased every year. I think that’s why the Hawks have been more inclined to draft a PG at No. 8.
@_JrdnThms@Boomstik45 You can. Not saying it wouldn’t work. I think ideally the Hawks prefer to have a true point guard and let Daniels or Reaves play their natural position. That’s what I would prefer to have.
I wrote about 2 key reasons why the Hawks might let CJ McCollum walk in free agency this summer.
