The song "Only You" from J. Cole's The Fall-Off album features an inspiring soundbite for the outro and the origin has been revealed.
On Feb. 6, Jason O. Wilson, author and founder of the Detroit-based non-profit Yunion, revealed the clip came from a poem that Eve L. Fontes wrote in his honor back in 2022.
"I was humbled when J Cole asked his manager to reach out for permission to use this viral moment with my sister Light for his new album The Fall Off," Wilson posted on X, along with the original video. "Yah used this moment to encourage millions of men then and He is doing it again."
The motivational poem finds Fontes, who goes by Light Da Flow Minista, praising Wilson for being an exceptional man despite enduring through many obstacles.
"Only You" features Burna Boy and is one of several personal tracks of The Fall-Off where Cole bares his soul about love, fatherhood and success.
@unitedmasters I’ve been waiting on the custom support like for about a month to reach back out to me for my payment. Who else can I reach out to for this?
