In a group chat with CDC Director Walensky and Surgeon General Murthy, Fauci raised the concern that the cytokine storm and fever after the second dose "could theoretically be associated with miscarriage in the 1st trimester." Walensky agreed: "Definitely a good point." Murthy called it "really helpful."

Nine days later, Fauci went on camera and said there were "no red flags" for pregnant women. This despite the fact that pregnant women were excluded from the vaccine trials entirely, a problem flagged in his own inbox months earlier by the National Academies.

Then Drew Weissman, co-inventor of the mRNA platform, emailed Fauci directly saying his team had concerns about LNPs reaching the placenta and fetus and were "talking to all of the appropriate people." Fauci forwarded it internally. The public messaging never changed.

They knew. They discussed it in writing. They said the opposite out loud.
