I’ve owned a home for about 12 years. My mortgage is half the going rate of a much smaller 3 bedroom apartment.
And I don’t have a bunch of neighbors in close proximity.
This is actually true. right wingers make fun of rentoids and hold up the idea of owning your own house as the ideal, but if you want long-term stability, renting and investing in a diverse stock portfolio brings in way more money vs tying all your money up in a single asset.
I agree the regional aspect is what made college football unique. Unfortunately, it’s going for the tv cash and will just be minor league NFL soon enough.
We have or about to see peak college football. The sport won’t be nearly as popular in the next generation as it is now imo.
@TroxelDerek@Pac12Central And the power 4 sign many G6 players to their rosters. Defund G6 and that talent pool dries up. It’s exactly the same as the NFL grabbing short term financial gains and risking harm to future talent.
My 13-year old son asked me to give him and his friends a ride to school
Of course I will
When we arrive, the friends get out - but my son stays in the car
"Aren't you going to join your friends?" I ask
"Nope. I barely know them. I dropped out of school 6 months ago to pursue entrepreneurship. I'm CEO of a taxi company now."
His phone buzzes.
He just received a $50 venmo for his services.
I'm so proud of my little entrepreneur.
Maybe I should talk to this kid more often.
@realdanihgh@LucasIngham No one will laugh harder than me if the NFL comes in and takes over the Saturday night tv window. The money the P2 or P4 will lose will pale in comparison to what the G6 currently gets.
@CWSSuperFan@tuffycentral I bet it’s more than 50% that find it unaffordable. College football is about to learn what happens when the average can’t afford to go to a game.
@DouglasTS Yes . You acknowledged that B1g and SEC breaking away would shrink interest in the sport. My point is that I don’t think adding the Big 12 and ACC to the break away saves the sport.
