You know I had decided to not to post this here but I have become just ONE of the casualties of ACA not being renewed. 09-2025 I was found unresponsive in my room and woke up 7 days later. Bill total was over 80K but thankfully my ACA and medicaid really was a god send. I had to get on Medicaid in June 2025 after hospitalization and although I was on short term but because I didn't update, the claim to long term because I hadn't received the info until I was released. Long story short I had to rely on my savings to continue paying the bills. If I told you how my SSI my mother receives you would not even believe me, not to mention she has dementia. So, starting 01-01-2026 ACA, gone! Medicaid reduced to 1k of coverage per year medical and $250 for dental and vision.
It sickens me for a 55 yr old man that has worked since I was 16, served 4 years in the US Army, made a career in the IT sector only to move back to my home state of WV to take care of my 82-year-old mother only to end up depending on someone else for certain assistance. When I think about Trump stating that we don't have the money to help Americans and his focus is WAR just enforces the fact that they are truly a cancer to our country.
Thanks for letting me rant if anyone can, I could surely use some assistance as I live within my means and after a year of living off my savings it's finally time to set my pride away in order to get through this and vote blue down every ballot I have the opportunity to do so.
Oh, and I truly do believe that Baron should be the first on the draft list.
