Good read from @tombaldwin66 on @Keir_Starmer first year. Tom has struck up a genuine relationship with KS over the years. Don’t think it would harm him if he could be this open with the country. And I am glad he admits “island of strangers” was a mistake. It felt wrong because it is and also because it is not him. I think people will understand why he made the mistake given the full context that day and good too that he is blaming nobody but himself. One of the lessons I hope all of them take from recent events re welfare is that the blame game helps nobody.
