Winning in the B2B space is a slow game. Building trust & opening the network of established & successful people takes time.

It is hard to be patient, but it is worth it because we’re building something for the long haul. We’re building something of substance with strong roots.

Listening to 50 on the way to a race this weekend I was reminded why I love these artists.

Most of their songs deliver that strong motivation to create, to do... not from their beats but mostly from their words.

They constantly tell stories and play the antagonistic character fighting a battle against someone else who doesn't deserve success as much as they do.

Athletes often do the same thing, some even making up stories, to give themselves added motivation.

🗝️ Do something so hard 1 time a year that impacts the other 364 days of the year

I completed 2 Misogi adventures in 2023.

The first was a gravel ride at Mt Whitney - 7kft, 65mi (9 hrs on the bike!) – Gaimon's WTF ride.

And the other was a triathlon I raced this past weekend.

I changed my attention regularly over the next 30 min from my kick, to my out-breath, etc.

Taking the mind away from worrying about the future (can I even finish this swim?) by using mindfulness techniques to put the mind in the present moment has helped me tremendously.

Overcommunicating & providing extreme clarity to your guidelines shows your partners that you’re dedicated to their success.

Intimidation & using fear techniques never work.

Being fair and kind is the only way.

Communicating consequences if guidelines are not met is the most important step as it introduces the urgency people must feel to make a change.

Presenting these guidelines at the beginning of a relationship is ideal but it is never too late to establish new guidelines.
