It’s an arcade game designed to be played over and over, with challenges/medals, alternate routes and high scores.

The game is not 2 hours but not every game needs to be 30+.

@teischni @xRinJM @SlLENTPRINCESS A large amount of physical PS5 games do not have the full game on the disc, making it similar to a key card. Nintendo also do not have a policy that forces your digital games to a 30-day timer check-in.

Beyond that they fixed the only issues that stopped some people not regarding it as the definitive way to play the game.

There are plenty of Switch 2 paid upgrades and this one is free with new content on top.

That’s never been a thing. Europe 25-30+ years ago were 50hz, NTSC always 60. Modern displays as a standard are all 60 for lower end, mid-high end being 120.

@Vosiks @cdLev86 @GenePark Yes the term started being coined after the emergence of SotN, because SotN took on the Metroid formula and added its own bits to it. But the point is I don’t think it added enough to share the title for the genre. It should be exclusive for Castlevania games of that style tbh.

@Vosiks @cdLev86 @GenePark Super Castlevania doesn’t play anything like Metroid though so that makes no sense. SotN was the first to copy the Metroid formula and they pretty much stuck to it since with the GBA and DS trilogies.

Castlevania 1-3 and Super are stage based with no Metroid elements at all?

@cdLev86 @GenePark Castlevania didn’t copy the Metroid formula until Symphony of the Night, an 11-year gap.

SotN added RPG elements to the genre but it’s still Metroid fingerprints all over it. Metroid has been doing it since 1986 so deserves to stand on its own for genre credit imo.

Metroid made this genre and Castlevania piggy backed off it. Love both, but it’s tragic that it ended up this way.
