Maharana Sangram Singh stands among the greatest figures in Indian history, not merely for his victories, but for the courage, vision, and integrity he embodied.

He was perhaps the only leader of his time who could unite both Hindu and Muslim armies. He defeated the Lodhis at Khatoli, Muzaffar Shah at Ahmedabad, and the Mughals at Bayana and went on to overcome the sultans of Delhi, Malwa, and Gujarat, extending his influence across much of present-day Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and northern Gujarat.

He also removed the jizya tax, reflecting his sense of justice and devotion for Dharma.

At Khanwa, he chose to face Babur despite his attempts at truce.

He commanded such deep respect among his followers that Hasan Khan Mewati refused Babur’s attempt to win him over through his captured son, and ultimately laid down his life fighting for the Maharana at Khanwa. In that battle, Hasan Khan Mewati stood firmly by his side with 5,000 troops. Even after Rana Sanga was wounded, Hasan Khan led the charge with great bravery, fighting fiercely until he fell in battle.

A rare embodiment of valor, leadership, and statesmanship-- a king complete in every sense.

Kachhwaha Kshatriyas abolished Jizya Thrice, and the 3rd time permanently, ensuring it was never reimposed.

Jizya was one of the largest reasons of religious conversion in other countries.

They saved the lives of Guru Tegh Bahadur, Mata Sundari, and Mata Devi.

They got removed the Bathing Tax for Hindus at Gaya.

They safeguarded and rebuilt most prominent Hindu religious centres, be it Varanasi, Ayodhya, Puri, Mathura, or Somnath.

A large section of the Hindu and Sikh population owes a lot to the Kachhwahas.

If anyone does not acknowledge this, he is Ehsaan Faramosh, period.

On this day, we honour Maharana Bakhtawar Singh Rathore of Amjhera, a brave Kshatriya leader and among the earliest figures of the 1857 uprising. In 1857, he led successful attacks on British forces, capturing the Bhopawar cantonment and key outposts, igniting resistance across Malwa and adjoining regions.

Betrayed and captured, he was martyred by hanging in Indore on 10 February 1858, at the age of about 34. His sacrifice remains commemorated in Amjhera, including a government school named in his honour—an enduring symbol of courage and resistance.

This day on 11th February 1519, Maharana Sanga alias Maharana Sangram Singh Guhilot defeated Turkic ruler Sultan Mahmud Khilji at Gagron - Battle of Gagron.

The Gagron Fort in Jhalawar, was built by Dod branch of Parmars, later ruled by Khichis - one of its rulers was Raja Pratap Singh Khichi - who Sikh & nirgunBhakti literature remembers as Bhagat Pipaji.
