I love the theory that if two people are truly meant to be together, life will somehow bring them back to each other, no matter how far apart they go.
Maybe they need to lose each other first. Maybe they need to grow separately, heal the parts they couldn't heal together, and become the people they were always meant to be. Maybe the timing wasn't wrong. Maybe they simply weren't ready.
And somehow, that thought brings me peace.
but before it all went wrong, i think that was the happiest i've ever been in my life.
i still write out texts to you whenever something happens, only to delete them because i remember i’m not your person anymore. it's so heavy carrying all this love with nowhere for it to go.
i don't want revenge. i just hope one day you realize how genuine i was.
For some men, losing an incredible woman can feel like freedom. Not because she was the problem, but because losing her means they no longer have to face the parts of themselves they were being forced to confront. They can go back to their old habits. The low effort. The emotional distance. The lack of accountability. The version of themselves that never had to grow because no one expected more from them. And they can call that peace. Sometimes a healthy relationship asks you to become more honest, more intentional and more emotionally mature. Not because someone is trying to change you, but because loving someone well requires you to look at yourself too. So if losing you feels like freedom to him, let him have it. You don’t need to convince someone that your love was valuable. People mistake the absence of accountability for peace because growth was never what they wanted.
