Again: Backman told me what would happen. Then he told a million unrelated, yet very related stories over the next 600+ pages - burying what you know will happen, yet always kinda reminding you - and somehow when it did happen at the very end, I was still shocked.

Heartbreak and tragedy and So. Much. Love. Incredible foreshadowing: you know something will happen, then everything happens, and then finally, the thing you knew was going to happen - but didn’t want it to, finally does. Backman is a literary god.

Read several of her books in HS as my "focus author," & this was the 1st since. Well-written story of a guy destined to fail & the interior/exterior battles he fights making his way through life.

Took a bit to get into, but once I did, I was all-the-way-in & couldn’t put it down. Not a gamer, but loved the intricate maze of partnership & problem solving & love.

Some good morsels on leadership, management, & careers in general. Got a bit turned off by his comments on working moms in the work-life balance chapter (esp. since I was simultaneously reading #19). Not the motivator I hoped for.

Really liked the plot of this suburban, vengeful, blood-splattered thriller and the way it unwound through the perspective of each character and the maid's "diary". It kept me in suspense until the end.

An honest, humorous read for working moms who struggle to have it all, but also are OK with having as much of it as they can reasonably get. Mostly relatable, but also made me feel very thankful for @1stmanmatty.

#17: Spare / Prince Harry
I wasn't clamouring to read this, but it was available at the library and I'm glad I did. Very interesting look inside the royal gates (from Haz's perspective). Felt his charisma throughout; also shook my head in disbelief often.
