I thought I wasted my life.
I'm 30.
I see people way younger than me succeeding.
10k/mo here, 5k/mo there.
I'm falling behind I thought. It's too late.
I'm wrong.
My life has led me exactly where I need to be.
We are all on our own path.
I'm no sob story.
I have a great career.
I have a great family.
I have a great fiancé.
I have my own property and I have investments made.
But something wasn't right for awhile.
I wasn't feeling "Fulfilled."
I was coasting through life. I was comfortable.
I decided I needed a change. I needed to push myself.
I needed to grow as a person and go after the life I truly want and desire.
Time freedom and life in my own hands.
How am I going to do that? I'll tell you.
- I will show up everyday for myself.
- I will be the fool and learn daily.
- I will push my limits.
- I will cultivate new positive lifestyle habits.
- I will learn to teach others to do the same.
Near the end of this year I am starting a coaching qualification and accreditation.
I will take you on this journey with me.
It's going to be tough.
There will be hard days.
But that is the journey of growth.
I will achieve my dreams.
I will forge my own path.
Let's go after the life we desire.
- Sam.
What are you in control of?
Not everything. But more than you think.
We can’t control other people. We can’t control circumstances. But we can control:
✔️ Our thoughts
✔️ Our actions
✔️ Our attitude
This week, someone tried to pull a fast one on me. I reacted out of emotion and got angry. But that didn't serve me, it only drained my energy.
And that's the problem. When we focus on what’s outside our control, in this case being other people, we lose sight of where our real power is.
Ultimately our happiness is down to how we react to external circumstances.
"It's not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters." - Epictetus
✅ Feel your emotions, but don’t let them control you.
✅ Step back. Take a breath. Respond with intention.
This week, choose control over chaos.
Idea.
We try.
We fail.
We learn.
We adapt.
We try again.
We fail again.
We learn more.
We persevere.
We keep going.
We succeed.
The difference between those who grow and those who stay stuck? Mindset.
Fear of failure. Fear of feedback. Fear of trying again. These fears are holding you back.
As a coach, I help you break through these mental barriers.
So that you can lead with confidence, take action, and turn a "failure" into stepping stone to your success.
What’s one mindset shift that changed your approach to failure?
I was stuck.
Not because of a lack of opportunity, but because of three invisible chains:
1. Fear of Judgment
2. Self-Doubt
3. Ego
As a firefighter turned coach, I learned something powerful. The story you tell yourself matters more than any external narrative.
"Am I good enough?"
"What will people think?"
"Can I really make this change?"
Limiting thoughts of doubt.
These thoughts are a choice.
My journey into coaching has taught me that:
✅ Judgment says more about others than you
✅ Self-doubt is just unexplored potential
✅ Ego is just fear dressed up.
Coaching has become a pathway to understanding myself at a deeper level.
Now I help others do the same.

What’s one mindset shift that changed your approach to failure?
I get it.
You’re busy.
✅ Decisions to make.
✅ Meetings to have.
✅ Emails to send.
✅ Places to be.
But where do you fit into that schedule?
You are so consumed by work that you move through life on autopilot.
Sound like you?
Take a moment. Step back. Think.
Pause and reflect.
This isn't a luxury - it's a strategy.
This isn't indulgence - it's a necessity.
The best leaders make time for themselves. The clarity that emerges from intentional reflection often solves problems your busy schedule is masking.
Block 30 minutes this week. Just you. No agenda, just thinking.

I'm back.
I took sometime away to find clarity in what it is I truly want out of this platform.
I've been working away in the background, new clients, LinkedIn, newsletter planning.
Rebranding not just my personal brand but who I am as a person.
Time away has been amazing in so many ways. Life has accelerated fast.
Working with many different people and seeing the transformation they have made.
I'm excited to be back and see the growth of many of you since I've been away. Look forward to seeing and hearing everything you have done.
Sam.
