Traditional therapy is based on a false premise - that finding the “origin” of a problem will make it disappear.

But it’s a great business model to have people attending sessions week after week for 20 years without making much progress.

Much like the Pharma model of having people on anxiety or depression meds for the rest of their lives.

@wil_da_beast630 Correct. Talk therapy doesn’t work. The medical establishment ignores hypnotherapy and NLP but they’re focused uniquely on results and outcome, not merely insight. And not covered by insurance. It’s worth paying more for actual results.

Anyone can not do something. Claiming inability just rationalizes doing the stupid thing that offers short term pleasure or relief. People don’t experience physical withdrawal when they abstain from porn. They experience unpleasant emotions, and disconnect the activity from its long term consequences. It is a question of mindset and identifying the benefits of making a change.
