Watched SPIRIT ANIMAL and absolutely loved it. New SOV that hits all the right notes and is sadistically crazy and funny. Directed by a woman as well and you don’t get that in SOV hardly ever. Ridiculously well done to fit perfectly in the 90s realm of SOV.

MAKO: One of Grefe’s better films with a unique plot for its time (also a spin off of STANLEY). Somewhat of a proto-slasher (a stretch, I know) with a dude who has a telepathic connection to sharks and kills them if they mess with his babies. Arrow did a wonderful job with these.

DEATH PROMISE: Perfect party movie. This movie totally brings the martial arts aspect along with the super gritty NY exploitation with it. Great revenge flick with a barrage of great characters.

HITCHER IN THE DARK. I haven’t revisited this flick for quite some time but it still hits pretty hard. Very dirty, rough, grimy, and uncomfortable at times. Doesn’t feel like a Lenzi film most of the time and feels like there were multiple hands in the pot. Not for everyone.

And that’s it. These are the best releases on home video we had for 2020. Amazing work from so many companies. No, I didn’t include any of our work on here because that would be tacky. I love the work we do and I’m incredibly proud of what we did this year. We killed it, too.

Watched the 4K UHD of E.T. today. I haven’t seen the movie in 25 years but as of this very moment I think it’s the best movie ever made. I haven’t seen a film that’s made me feel like that in a very long time.

@DennisChristo4 can elaborate but during special feature production he let me know that Blondie did a theme song for the film but it didn’t work out. The song was Europa and they put on their album Autoamerican.
