Francisco Lindor sent Citi Field into a frenzy with his grand slam that sent the Mets to the NLCS two years ago today

[This Day in Mets History @NYMhistory]

10/3/2024 Trailing 2-0 in the ninth and facing elimination, Pete Alonso puts the Mets ahead with a three-run home run. New York beats Milwaukee to secure a spot in the NLDS for the first time since 2015.

[2001 Live @25YearsAgoLive]

Mike Piazza hits a two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning during the first professional sporting event held in New York City after 9/11, at Shea Stadium.

The New York Mets defeat the Atlanta Braves 3-2.

Mets fans are disgusting. You rooted for and are cheering on Alonso just tying the game with his 300th home run but never once stood for Lindor.

YOU ARE NOT METS FANS

[Keane @kranepool]

Morons at Citi Field cheering Alonso tying the game in the 9th inning then cheering a curtain call you people are utterly disgraceful and can never call yourself a Mets fan ever again

[jUSTIN @metsventpage]

the same Mets fans who hate Francisco Lindor's guts for actually no reason whatsoever are the same ones simping for a dude who left and rooting for his team over the one they claim to be a fan of makes you think

[anthony @HoodieAlonso]

A curtain call for a visiting player tying the game in the 9th inning please ban every single person in Citi Field from returning to this ballpark

It’s almost like they know these AI data centres are destroying communities and the environment.

They know people don’t want to live or work near them.

They know we know they’re taking all our water & electricity to enrich billionaires.

Of course they want to hide them.

Don't run on Carson Benge 😤

He makes BACK-TO-BACK outfield assists in the 1st inning!

They’re selling the game to private equity right out from underneath you — just like they did with everything else in your life — and you still want to give them the salary cap they want

“Somehow was removed”

Yeah the Tigers just willingly took a worse package without negotiating.

Man this whole thing REEKS of foul play…

[20 Years Ago Sports @20YearsAgoSport]

The Jets beefed up their offensive line in this years draft with 2 first round picks. They took tackle D’Brickashaw Ferguson 4th as and center Nick Mangold 29th.

Both players have impressed early in training camp and the Jets hope they can both make an impact for years to come.

[Brewer Sooner @BrewerSooner]

So let’s get this straight:

- Tigers called the Dodgers, wanted to get a deal done immediately

- Rays weren’t even given a chance, Tigers didn’t care for their prospects

- Made the price for Milwaukee much higher than for the Dodgers

Something is fishy… way too fishy.

When Skubal’s UCL explodes in his 1st start

[Chase Snyder @ChasingSnyder]

So the Dodgers gave up…

River Ryan: Current 28 year old AAA pitcher with 4.46 ERA coming off Tommy John

Brady Smith: 21 year old Class A pitcher expected to arrive in 2029

Zyhir Hope: 21 year old AA OF expected to arrive in 2027 (if there is one)

For… Tarik Skubal. Sure.
