@GretaThornberry@prcWrites@venturetwins The point is, regardless if a parent has some responsibility, these companies have data and algorithms, and they purposefully utilize it to manipulate in order to profit. It's harming children.
@GretaThornberry@prcWrites@venturetwins Why are you so individualistic with regards to moral culpability? Plus also, what if the woman does teach that to her kids and they still do it with less than fully developed brains? Do you have kids?
@GretaThornberry@prcWrites@venturetwins I believe whole heartedly in personal responsibility. What does that have to do with super young children and their inability to have personal responsibility when it comes to media? I'm genuinely not trying to argue.
@GretaThornberry@prcWrites@venturetwins You really should consider educating yourself about this topic. With all due respect, it's clear you have not. I encourage you to research both sides. There are documentaries and a wealth of info out there.
@GivnerAriel@bgrace805 harmful content from ever coming across a video when a child is watching something. They do have this capability but they choose not to act on it.
@GivnerAriel@bgrace805 kids. I tried using all the parental controls and it didn't protect him from people intentionally inserting harmful things at various points in seemingly innocent kid's videos. It's ridiculous. These companies need more robust parental controls and use AI more widely to block
@GivnerAriel@bgrace805 I encourage you to research into the statistics and the harms of these algorithms for our youth. I never thought of it before until I now have a child. We had to ban YouTube in our house because our 6yo was being harmed by it just by watching vacuum videos and stuff intended for
@bgrace805@GivnerAriel Correct Sir. Children as young as 6 are being harmed by the algorithms these companies know are harmful. They can hardly be expected to have personal responsibility. Yes parents have responsibilities to mitigate but come on. The statistics are clear.
@MomAngtrades Mentally ill does not equal not normal. There are plenty of people who have PTSD with police or military in the context where their amygdala/nervous system responds in a way that their brain cannot help, myself included. Seeking help does not cure it unfortunately.
