Right now, thousands of children and adults with cancer in Gaza are trapped in a nightmare. About 5,000 patients are waiting for treatment that is not available in Gaza anymore.

Augusta Victoria Hospital in East Jerusalem is uniquely suited to save these lives. It offers not only top-notch cancer treatment but also a practical, life-saving option: patients can receive intensive care there and return home to Gaza between hospitalizations. This arrangement minimizes trauma and disruption for families while providing access to therapies that simply don't exist in Gaza.

Children are dying as a result. Gazal, just six years old, was diagnosed with acute leukemia—a condition doctors can treat effectively. But with only steroids available in Gaza, he suffered two agonizing months waiting for a medical evacuation that never came.

Haiya’s kidney cancer returned and spread to her lungs while she waited three months without treatment; she died of respiratory failure without the supportive care every child deserves.

Youssef, twelve, battled lymphoma, a cancer routinely cured with the right care, but he died within a week from suffocation because he couldn’t reach the hospital that could save him.

The Patriarchs and Heads of the Churches in Jerusalem—the rare united voice from Jerusalem’s diverse religious communities—have pleaded with Israeli authorities for humanitarian access:

“We respectfully request permits to allow children in Gaza diagnosed with leukemia to travel to Augusta Victoria Hospital to receive the specialised treatment only available there… We urge that permission for treatment be granted as soon as possible.”

Save these children and let them go to Augusta Victoria Hospital.
