🚧 Fixing Our Roads! 🚧
This week, we marked National Pothole Day with the news that our Government is increasing funding to fix 7 million potholes!
Bexley gets £900K to repair our roads to:
✅ Protect vehicles
✅ Make cycling safer
✅ Improve bus journeys
🚗🚴♀️🚌
Good question from @danfrancis02 in PMQs today on why Bexley Council has not spent the money allocated to it to fix potholes. It turns out the Tory cabinet member in charge has complained that people reporting potholes is causing the council too much work. What a joke!
Today at PMQs, I raised my campaign to ensure Bexley’s Conservative Council spends the £895k given by Government to fill potholes.
The council's budget monitoring shows less than 5% of the money was spent from April to June, while potholes in Mayplace Road East remain untreated.
@BridgerHowes allowed me the honour of winning their fantasy football competition last year. I held the trophy with pride. Today I pass on the silverware to Dave King a great and deserved winner this year. Well done Dave and long live @BridgerHowes
