Speaking of lack of polling, #RankedChoiceVoting is on the ballot in MA and the last poll by @WBUR (from Aug) showed lots of undecided voters. https://t.co/4lRxwNiBFJ now has a donation banner in support of @yeson2rcv!

One of my pet peeves is seeing labeled events on time series with the implication of causality. e.g. this graph absolutely does not show https://t.co/MPdup5QGoi is responsible for affecting the Senate races (but onecan dream 😏) Waddabout those confounding factors? #FlipTheSenate

This blog post did a great job at laying out something I’ve been noticing for a while. “Hustle culture” has a lot of negative side effects, and one is not being realistic about the biological realities of health.

@jeanqasaur The unfortunate reality is, that as humans, way more than we want to admit of our hiring decisions are based on harmful biases we’ve internalized. I think that there are far worse factors people use like, how is someone dressed, do they speak like I do, etc.
@jim_savage_ Unfortunately what teams need and what they think they need is often very different. The confounding of engineering/coding skills with scientific/inquiry skills is huge right now. Partially driven by a dearth of scientists proactively entering.

This article says that the "lone genius" narrative is bad because it discredits all the people who help. It's also harmful because it leads people to think they have to do things alone! A strong support network is often what makes the difference between good and great.
