A physician once said to my colleague - “you’re not a leader, you’re an administrator”. Ouch!

Imagine if my colleague said to an orthopedic surgeon- “hey doc you’re not a surgeon, you’re a carpenter”

Or told a nurse - “nursing care is medical babysitting”

Let’s all be nice!

@marklewismd That goes without mentioning the awful process to get prior auth for the CT and then the scheduling delay to actual have the scan done. These patients have cancer - unfortunate that the insurance machine seems to often forget that!

A question for insurance companies who insist that cancer patients pay for chemo out-of-pocket upfront, with the promise of later reimbursement:

Would you cover the cost of organ harvesting instead?

Because most of my patients would have to sell their own kidney to afford this.

My first day on Twitter has gone much better than my first as an Administrator. I can’t believe I thought it was a good idea to tell the nursing staff our patients choose us (Magnet designated) for care because of the wonderful physicians. The looks I received were terrifying!
