What people don't realise is https://t.co/locSMYeuow had a Comrade-in-arms for his works, and he was an equal if not bigger contributor in their mutual quest. In fact he was the recognised pioneer & U Ve Sa joined him later. C Wyravanatha Thamotharampillai (Born Charles Winslow Kingsbury), originally a seminarian from Jaffna, later became fully engrossed in the Arumuga Navalar's revivalist movement. Then, he moved to Madras & was among the 1st batch of BA graduates of the University of Madras and worked as a teacher. Then studied law, became a judge in Pudukottai State. He was the 1st one to start hunting for manuscripts, even giving up his law practice in Kumbakonam & suffering financially. He has some recognition in Jaffna but not in TN where he lived & did most of his work. Most of the manuscript recovery people attribute to U Ve Sa were actually joint projects between both. However the first few revived works Tolkappiyam, Kallikottai, Viracoliyam were all his sole efforts. He also pioneered critical writing in Tamil, writing Neethi Neri Vilakkam & later commentaries on his revived works.
In fact for quite some time he was known as the pioneer in Tamil revivalism & he was granted the title Rao Bahadur on his retirement from Pudukottai State service by the British for his "contribution to Oriental literature"!!
So there were 2 early contributors in Tamil revivalism !! One not much appreciated in his land of work !!

Of the 2 Communist parties- the CPI or the Right Communists or what was then known as the Soviet Line Party were initially fellow-travellers of the Congress and took part in multiple coalition govts at the state level. The CPI - Marxist or the Left Communists or the Peking Line as they were called in the 70s post-split always only gave outside support to coalitions led by others but never participated in those coalition govts that they were fringe members of !!
So if you post this, people won't realise it's sarcasm as it's still a possibility!! If you post CPI-M will participate in the Cabinet, then yes its sarcasm as its less possible
