@SamaHoole Not really the WW2 picture. There was actually a "plough-up" policy converting millions of acres of pasture and grassland into crop land for potatoes wheat barley and oats. Bread and potatoes became the staple diet. Meat was rationed and farmers had to reduce their livestock.

This Sunday, 14th September, the Edinburgh Riding of the Marches returns. Riders from across the world will attend the event which was formed in 2008 as an annual re-enactment of the Edinburgh Riding of the Marches. Riders will enjoy exhilarating gallops through gorgeous scenery, ending with the epic finale on the Royal Mile. 🐎
Starting at 09:30 at Drum Estate, spectators can watch along the route throughout Edinburgh or enjoy entertainment on the Royal Mile, with the cavalcade completing its journey between 15:45 - 16:00.
