I have nothing against the #BarmyArmy business model. As a business owner myself, you have to look at and admire the money being made while getting paid to watch England all over the world.

One thing I cannot get behind is how it seems to be the main option for watching England on tours around the world. For the Cape Town Test match, although tickets were only allocated to 13% of fans, they were priced at £22 a day. The cheapest Barmy Army package is £2,493 for that Test, including a hotel which, over the same timeframe, costs £1,072 when booked directly through the hotel. That’s a difference of £1,333.

Luckily, @surreycricket have a relationship with Cricket South Africa, and I can get tickets through my membership for about £345 for all four days although it’s not been guaranteed yet. All I’m trying to say is that if you’re not a member of a cricket club, you will have to buy your tickets through the Barmy Army at such an inflated cost.

I’ve followed Chelsea home and away for a number of years. If one of the supporters clubs was given our full allocation for United away and I had to pay £150 for a £30 ticket and buy a hotel for the night through them, there would be absolute uproar.

The Barmy Army should be able to sell packages to those who want the ease of having it all sorted through a travel agency, but there must be more options available for match going fans.

Yes, the trumpet’s great. Is it worth a few grand? I’m not too sure.

So Surrey now back in the passenger seat. Notts playing bottom of the league Gloucestershire and Lancashire playing second from bottom Warwickshire.

It’s definitely a must win game Tuesday and we may have to win by a good margin. I imagine we’ll have Laws and Worrall back but I have no idea why we couldn’t have them playing yesterday, not saying we still wouldn’t have got beat but the NRR may not have taken such a hit.

Regarding #TheHundred I think I speak well on this as I have been going for the past 5 years. I’ve not once paid any money for tickets but quite frankly it’s included in my membership for Surrey and it’s 10 minutes up the road. I see it as a free add on as I would pay for my Surrey membership anyway.

It is a complete gimmick and it’s run its cause. It’s the same slop every game, same crap music, same stupid in game entertainment and teams that mean absolutely nothing to anyone. Everyone buying the merch is buying it as a gimmick, everyone going is going for a day out and would do the same if it was the Blast. I’m not sure what they’re going to do because it seems it’s so far gone the ECB are too proud to go back to promoting the blast.

The love I have for Surrey and England can never be matched to a franchise. I’m sick of everyone continuing to have to talk about it but it should be slagged off every day till it stops. Yes it’s good watch international players but quite frankly teams matter more than any player ever will, and a team called MY London which formed 4 weeks ago won’t ever have that power.

I can hands down say Surrey CCC are the best run club across all sports in the country (maybe ever world) they honestly cannot do enough for there members. You just have to tip your hat to them.
