We've been receiving repeated complaints of sales of pirated copies of my books on @Flipkart; from readers who've paid and thought they were buying legal & original books. My publishers @HarperCollinsIN have been raising these complaints repeatedly. Nothing has changed. Readers, publishers, authors, and the government lose from the sale of pirated books. And @Flipkart is hurting its brand.

The word Ramayan literally means ‘Ram’s travel’. In Sri Ram’s epic travelogue, everything possible or seemingly impossible happens. Ram travels far and wide, conquers the irresistible golden Lanka, and yet he returns to his home Ayodhya.

That's when Deepawali-the festival of light and joy is celebrated. In the journey of life, we pass many milestones and conquer many kingdoms. However, it is only when we turn inwards- towards our inner home, that we experience true joy and light. It is homecoming in its essence!

Let’s continue to support these book-stalls at our Railway stations and elsewhere. I’ve seen many of them turning into fast- food joints over the years. We need to nurture a generation of book-readers than junk-eaters.
