Tolkien fell in love with Edith, whom he would eventually marry, when he was sixteen. They would sit together on the second floor of a tea shop and throw sugar lumps into the hats of passersby. When they ran out of sugar, they moved to the next table. True love, folks, true love.
@matt_boot_ @Pattzruiz Maybe not ‘here’ but coming up with a term that is so illustrative that it becomes adopted in one or the other field is like the jewel in the academic crown.
@Pattzruiz @matt_boot_ Yea, I mean, obviously, I know nothing about this type of theory and the distinctions being made in it. I stand by my remember/recall distinction in the common usage. Does forgetting simply mean ‘not thinking about it’/‘not having it on your mind’?
@Pattzruiz @matt_boot_ We are defo splitting hairs here, but if it leads to a new reading of the issue, or a rephrasing of the argument in more precise terms then presto/chango: #Academia!
