🔊🔊Listen - Up
Not only one of the best American attackers in the MLS, but one of my favorite people to train as well. @cmueller1662 is a winner; he asks questions and listens to/applies everything we talk about. He is an inspiration of working hard, not just fast. #details
For coaches and directors:
The game should become the curriculum.
Watch the game. Find the patterns that are successful. Then train them until players can implement them in their own game.
MLS defensive pattern.
Michael Olise-inspired attacking pattern.
Find it. Train it
There is too much "work hard" advocates in this country, but we are missing what is the the most important aspect of this. Work smart first then work hard!
Here we use the body to explain a 45 whipped/cross shot. High-level explanations of high-level skills! This is True
We don't know what "weak" is at the True Center. All weak-footed shots from every TRUE PRO Player in the session in a short window. We challenge them with every drill in an effort to get the best out of them. That is TRUE
TRUE - focus on giving players the instruction and feedback they need to develop functional skills instead of drills to get keep them moving.
Grateful for Coach Albert’s contributions to this mission and for the impact has on these players’ development. @AlbertKnowsRec
Weak-foot training can not be done without full buy-in and confidence. We must help them believe in themselves and buy into it! The mission keeps pushing forward!
Functional training isn’t as simple as it sounds.
In this session:
2 defenders
2 midfielders
1 striker
Every role gets exactly what it needs—while staying connected in one realistic game sequence.
Build → combine → break pressure → progress → finish.
Step one is identifying what’s holding them back. Step two is translating that feedback in a way they can understand—this is where on-screen analysis makes the difference. Clear details, immediate application, real results. This is true player/pro development. #ChangingTheGame
This man's experience is pricess! So grateful to have Coach @AlbertKnowsRec working on mentoring/guiding our players! So much wisdom to share with these players!
Great having Sam Angel this off-season from the @theChicagoStars. Highly recommended by her coach last season. She embraces feedback and applies it instantly. Functional, game-real work to get ready from Coach @AlbertKnowsRec. Grateful both a great coach and a great ambassador!
It's simple - Work on skills that matter and actually teach players how to do the skills. This is our job and our mission. This is True and we're thankful to hav such a great ambassador of the game and role model for the next generation! @brooklynraines4
Black Friday wasn’t about flash — it was about the unsexy work that separates serious players.
Physicality. Weak-foot shooting. Pro standards.
At the top level, there are no one-footed players.
Hopefully the live demo opened some eyes — this is the path. #WorkTrue
Players often need to see a skill before they can execute it. This week we had 3 breakthroughs: a 90° whipped shot, a speed shot, and a 45° whipped shot. It’s not about memorizing angles—it’s about the explanation. True skills come from true experience and teaching.
Brooklyn absolutely killed it at the U20 World Cup. There were so many incredible moments, but we picked just a few game-changing highlights. Grateful to have worked with him leading into this World Cup and to continue to work with him. More to come #TRUE#TRAINING#ENJOY
The whole session was built on dragging a player to create lateral space—opening up for a 90° whipped shot.
Even after seeing Lamine Yamal’s strike vs France, players didn’t grasp how crucial the angles were.
One wrong detail = wasted session.
Little details = real skill.
TRUTH
We love when parents share clips of players using skills we’ve trained
These aren’t flashy moves—they’re game skills.
Proud of Alex for taking the risk in-game & locking in during training.
This is what TRUE is all about. #TRUTH
If players have the capacity to focus, study our technique, and the physiology to execute the skills — we will introduce them to the next level of the game.
Teaching skills requires a multi-faceted approach. We must give athletes multiple different pathways to acquire a skill
💪 Weak foot day! Crosses, long balls & power shots for these ladies. We broke down reps on the touchscreen, made adjustments, & saw real progress in form + results. Saved to her database for anytime access 📲 Big thanks to all the ladies for pushing outside comfort zones!#True
Embrace the uncomfortable. Our job is to push them out their comfort zone and create an environment where it's okay to make mistakes on the way there. #ExponentialGrowth#DifferenceMakingSkills
