Today, I joined Governor @GregAbbott_TX in Lubbock as he announced a new proposal to better protect Texas students from predators in schools. Stronger mandatory penalties for educators convicted of improper relationships with students will send a clear message that Texas will never tolerate the abuse of children by adults entrusted with their care.

Last session, the Texas House passed major reforms to better protect young Texans, but our work on this matter is never done. We are ready to build on these protections next session so every Texas student can focus on learning in a safe environment.
