The big UK story: the FCA published its final crypto regulatory framework on 30 June 2026 — the biggest expansion of crypto oversight in UK history, covering trading platforms, custodians, stablecoin issuers, and staking, with new retail protections like Consumer Duty and Ombudsman access. Firms can apply for authorisation between 30 September 2026 and 28 February 2027, and platforms without FCA authorisation won’t be able to operate in the UK from October 2027.
