Obviously there are individuals amongst them that hold personal biases, just like I would since im not perfect, but that never stopped them from treating me with respect.

I obviously can’t speak for every Japanese person IN Japan but I never had to worry about violent crimes or someone spitting on me while walking down the street, simply because I’m black. I DID observe that their curiosity may be seen as ignorance/racism

Every race has committed racism in America. You can find proof in the black, Hispanic, white, Asian, etc communities

@ImPhatSoo @Ozone8200 @raphousetv2 It’s not cap. The worst part of my trip was the spectacle. Going to the grocery store and having people stare like I’m walking on water. They treat all foreigners LIKE foreigners since their country is homogeneous. For most of them (MOST) you’re not black or white, just foreign.

@Ozone8200 @raphousetv2 This isn’t true for Japan. Of all Asian countries, they’re one of the chilliest w black people. I never experienced racism while living there for five years. The only thing is they think every black person is some famous person like Whitney Houston and you get asked for photos
