It took me 15 years to learn this, but here’s how to hire people:
Hire someone who has done the exact task you need completed for another company, ideally at a slightly larger scale.
Make sure they jive with your team/not a jerk.
Not someone with potential
It’s that simple.
@founder_solo@justinkan@atrium There’s a stark difference between integration and discrimination. Discrimination excludes someone to select another. Integration includes others while maintaining access for those previously including.
It recognizes the whole, not the some.

How do I find moms who code, & want to re-enter the workforce? I've co-founded a startup in SF, and we're looking for engineers. Where are the throngs of moms who left tech b/c companies want you to pretend you have no kids? DM me if that's you.
@MandelaSH It’s interesting how people who don’t have the passion for the problem are the first to tell you why YOU shouldn’t do it.
Only the perspective of those willing to suffer for the cause holds lasting value to shape your journey. Everyone else can kick rocks. #notimeforbistanders
