TEACHER 🧾: Yes. One teacher runs the whole school, and still government reports, surveys and duties keep coming.

SAMDISH: What kind of children study here?

TEACHER 💔: Most are from poor families. Parents leave for Patna, Allahabad or Chennai for labour. Many children live alone, cook alone and still come to school.

SAMDISH: What do teachers do when children stop coming?

TEACHER 🕯️: We send other children to call them. If they still do not come, we go ourselves to find them in fields or forests.

SAMDISH: So this is more than teaching?

TEACHER 🫡: Much more. The salary is low, but when a child from here becomes something, that happiness keeps us going.

I just spoke with Ruchika's mother. She is deeply upset and understandably angry. Despite Ruchika releasing an apology video and Prime Minister @narendramodi publicly stating that she (& others) should be forgiven, the FIR against her child has still not been withdrawn. She is also distressed that sections of the media continue to circulate her daughter's videos and relentlessly hound the family with questions.

On behalf of Cockroach Janta Party, I assured her that no legal action will be taken against her child. I also assured her that we will extend every possible legal assistance and ensure Ruchika receives any counselling and support she may need during this difficult time.

She was relieved to hear this and said she would reach out to me whenever any assistance is required.
