@gekkoadvisors@k3ithmccullough@PythiaR Analyst community on this is a complete joke. The fact multiple premium has disappeared is nuts. 2x better eps growth even with one time costs, tariff headwinds, and bad freight environment. You can get ~9% eps growth next yr just from buyback accretion and lapping of one timers.
@PythiaR UP merger fears are absolutely overblown. Minimal overlap between the two networks. $cp will be rewarded concessions that’ll extend its reach. If industry is not rewarded concessions, it opens the floodgates for further M&A - we can see BN-CP happen. CP = winner in all scenarios.
@PythiaR $cp 18.5x ‘26 for a low/mid teens eps grower w the best team in the space. Real shot of them playing in a role in M&A but the stock is not pricing that at all. Very easy comps next yr on costs.
@dpriego@PythiaR What are you talking about? They are going to do 11% this yr w major one time costs, and they did 11% last year. The next best rail is doing 6% this yr.
“No longer differentiated” lol. You think UPNS will happen in a vacuum?
@Tintincapital@blankspacenom BNSF will not buy CSX. It will be an operational nightmare for them integrating the two w the subpar mgmt teams. All BRK cares abt is their dividend from BN. If BNSF doesn’t make a move, there is no way STB will approve UP-NS.
@Tintincapital@blankspacenom $cp is the best stock to own in rails. They will compound eps at least 15% and buyback just recently resumed. Stock is now trading at same multiple as CSX which is crazy. Ppl are overestimating likelihood of transcon approvals.
@RAMCOCAPITAL@marc_slans Egerton sold bc their rails analyst left. Hohn has been selling CNI for a while. Think they sold a lil of CP due to tariff uncertainty caused during liberation day.
@gekkoadvisors@At50w50882@marc_slans Agree a lot with this view. $cp network in Mexico would be highly valuable for BNSF $brk. It’s no secret that BNSF is poorly operated. With $cp they get the best ceo in the space by far.
@At50w50882@marc_slans $cp selling off on this news is pretty crazy. looks very attractive at these levels. They will not be impacted by any of transcon merger and could actually benefit
@WinnipegInvstr@MilwMonstrosity $cp will not be impacted much at all from a east-west merger because of their mainly north-south network. there is very lil network overlap
