I really can’t take a lot of TVL criticism seriously when it comes from the same people who were saying the season would be trash because Lestat wore chartreuse pants (back when the first fan pics from filming were posted)
Driving me crazy because this Lestat is likely: suicidal, haunted by guilt he can’t reconcile with, unable to recognize or trust his body, grappling with having been horrifically abused once again.
it’s true lestat’s not having a gender crisis because he has always been genderqueer and gnc <3 nothing to have a crisis about because he already knows that about himself <3 okay? <3
I was a lurker at the time but does anyone remember when someone posted this as loustat after the lawyer scene teaser came out and the annoying side of the fandom shit their pants bc “Louis would never say this to Lestat” … LMFAOOOO
You didn't understand why Lestat said he wants to be a woman sometimes in the episode about his failures, but he's a queer person who grew up with a family who asked him to be more of a man and was mocked for expressing femininity.
Masculinity is one of his failures.
anyway my last offering to the genderstat discourse of the day is that lestat’s masculinity is often actually associated with his failures and that is evident with many at the long table.
(aka lestat, gender, & transphobic discourse)
