@TommyOliverSays@saberspark64 There's nothing legally stopping you from tying a property deed to an NFT, creating a class of supercapitalists who passively get rich for having once owned something.
As your current self differs from your past via theseation yet has continuity with it, so too do your imagined fractions to the extent they resemble their source. Yours are, for less or more, as much you as your prior iterations. You are and contain multitudes in community.
This is kinda the thing I talk about with distributed self, but I'm interested in the ones that resemble me enough to have thoughts I'd actually have. They are no longer doppelgangers but me having a thought in someone else's brain.
RPG druids' prohibition on work'd metal isn't about the metal, it's distance from nature via process. The long industrial refinement would make white sugar, plastic, or corn oil just as potent, if not more.
Social justice (including cancel culture) has the same goods & ills as honour because it's a rediscovery of the same concept. To call something out is to name it dishonourable. As a bonus, reactionaries are largely unequip'd to deal with being call'd dishonourable in debate.
Social justice is to be contrast'd w/ legal justice. In places where the law has gaps, failures, or where applying state force would be a bad precedent, social justice holds offenders to account by other means. It's an economy of trust & reputation. So is honour.
@TommyOliverSays You're reading it. Common/Basic is often described as a conjunction of creoles and loanwords. English as a 2nd Language outnumbers primary speakers of most other languages, including english. It's the widest "badly spoken" language.
@TommyOliverSays Utopia: NFTs could replace domain and phone registrars.
Dystopia: NFTs could give landlords royalties in perpetuity for title deeds to physical property. It also makes intellectual property permanent, and creates a race to plant flags commodifying every conceivable object.
Compare "your intuition is usually right" and "common sense is the source of all myth". Intuition is made for things we encounter frequently, not for the list of all possible things. We also often credit intuition only after we understand something.
@TarbuckTransom This is why I started saving new videos that are important to me as they come out. Few will be as civilized as @goldenwitchfire and warn the public.
Biology, environment, socialization, life events, all of these press without agency on a person. I think they ought to be resisted or at least tempered, and the future based on more than merely the past. If you are the sum of forces placed on you, let the dominant one be choice.
