South Africa’s FNB (@FNBSA) is officially entering crypto.
The bank has partnered with @VALRdotcom to let customers buy and sell crypto directly through its banking platform, with BTC, ETH, XRP, SOL and USDT currently available.
VALR is an FSCA-licensed Category I & II Crypto Asset Service Provider.

Adeola Adesina (@deolarepublic), a deal flow partner at LvlUP, believes Lisk got its Africa strategy right despite eventually exiting the continent.
He argues that Lisk approached the market more like a venture capitalist than following the traditional “build on my chain” model.
“Africa is a very poor market for foreign blockchains to execute. No blockchain has made any serious money from transactions in Africa.”

In just nine months of 2026, @ObiexHQ recorded more than $4.71 billion in stablecoin deposits, surpassing the $3.5 billion recorded in all of 2025.
Since 2021, the company has recorded $11.07 billion in stablecoin deposits, as it expands its footprint into other African markets, per Afriflux.
