Released #Achievements v1.3.0 on iOS.

Today is a small but historic moment for my Android app, Achievements.

After many years, I'm saying goodbye to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean – released in 2012. The new minimum supported version is Android 6.0.

Thanks to old Android versions for the long journey. Time to move on 💚

Still working on my game 🎮
But I just got an idea for another app.

Almost every app I build starts as a personal tool – something I want to use myself every day.

And honestly, I love building software this way.

Released #Achievements v1.2.0 on iOS.

Added colored group backgrounds and a separate section for completed achievements. Also fixed a bug where the wrong achievement could open when editing.

While working on updates for the iOS version of Achievements, I'm still maintaining the old Android one. A user asked for a small UI change – added it today.

This time, before writing any code for Achievements, I'm building the whole app visually in Figma – screens, colors, flows. Trying a "design-first" approach for this project. Feels great so far.

Starting work on my next app – Achievements. A small indie project to make everyday life feel a bit more like a video game. Let's build something cool again. Stay tuned!

After shipping my first iOS app last week, I'm jumping right into the next one. This one is all about making life feel a bit more like a video game. Excited to build, learn, and share the journey here.

Wrap-up.

Despite all the mistakes, I finished the app – and learned a lot. I hope this is useful for someone working on their first indie app too. And I'll definitely keep these lessons in mind for my next project.

Extra point.

I tried to keep my GitHub activity fully green, but not every day is productive. Some days my only commit was renaming a button just to fill a square. Other days were spent planning or organizing Trello boards – useful, but not code. Now a green grid isn't the goal.
