#WATCH | Thousands of protestors from various parts of Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) gathered in Rawalakot and raised slogans against what they described as Pakistan’s continued occupation and policies in the region. The demonstrators demanded justice for civilians who were reportedly killed and injured during firing by Pakistani security forces amid recent protests.

The rally was addressed by local political leaders and representatives of the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), who criticised the authorities’ handling of the protests and called for an independent investigation into the reported deaths and injuries. Speakers urged the international community and human rights organisations to take note of the situation and press for justice for the affected families.

During Sheikh Hasina’s government, a pipeline called the Bangladesh–India Friendship Pipeline was built, through which another 8,000 tons of diesel has now arrived from India.

The ideological descendants of the Pakistani collaborators in Bangladesh who are called “Razakars” often argue, “Are we getting the diesel for free? We’re paying for it.” Who will explain to these fools that sometimes, even with money, essential things cannot be obtained without proper systems or management? Why do people have to stand in long lines at fuel pumps for hours with money in their pockets? You have the money—so why aren’t you able to get fuel?

Sheikh Hasina was that manager who took initiatives to ensure everything through her foresight. That is where the credit for her leadership lies. It is because Sheikh Hasina built this pipeline with India that, in times of crisis like today, diesel can be brought in so easily.

Whatever Sheikh Hasina has done with India has ultimately benefited the people of Bangladesh. But the pro-Pakistani mindset of the “Razakar offspring” does not want to accept that.
