My debut novel, SWEDEN, came out in August 2018. To mark its fifth birthday, I’ve given it a new cover. And from today, it’s also available again as a paperback.

Buckle up, Japan!
"While speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump suddenly touched on Japan. 'I love Japan. We have a great relationship with Japan, but we have an interesting deal with Japan that we have to protect them, but they don't have to protect us,' he said."
1/4 In the winter of 1943/44 this cave in the mountains of northern Italy hosted one of the most unusual exhibitions in NZ art history. Two escaped NZ prisoners & veterans of partisan fighting were hiding in the cave with an American airman.
1/7 MAGA is melting down as the movement's lumpenproletarian base rages against tech bros' talk about American mediocrity & the superiority of migrant workers. I'm reminded of a story Tongan-based American sociologist Maikolo Horowitz told me about Trumpism.
@MikaSaitama The ones in supermarkets here tend to be overly sweet, which is probably why I get sick of them. I should probably make my own. I have done that with hot cross buns the last few years.
I have spent many hours photographing and videotaping birds, and I’m always amazed at their ability to fly, but this one is mind-blowing. Check out how it uses its tail to make a 180-degree turn. Its entire body shifts, and each feather is being individually controlled by the bird. Who choreographed this dance? 😊
@hp88 Not the restaurant I had in mind, but the Japanese place we went to last night had “matchamisu” on the menu. The sake kasu cheesecake was also delicious. (No photos of the actual desserts, unfortunately.)
Really chuffed that my short story 'I Wish You Good Time' made the Hammond House Publishing @hhpublish1 2024 International Literary Prize 'Time' short list. A real writing boost! https://t.co/sDK9g6MN3M #writingcompetitions#WritingCommunity
