– Happy St David’s Day to The Welsh Cavalry!
Ahead of St David’s day we would like to wish all members of 1st The Queen’s Dragoon Guards the very best and hope they have a fantastic day.
Previous celebrations within the regiment have begun with the @CO_QDG & @RSM_QDG issuing challenges which have varied in levels of difficulty.
Whether it be running thousands of miles, baking Welsh cakes, using drones, eating a leek or two, or, building a chariot, the d has always focussed on bringing people together and celebrating the cultural wealth of the regiment.
These traditions are aimed at both raising money for the Dreams and Wishes charity and then bringing the people of @thewelshcavalry together to work towards a common goal.
As the Army Leadership Doctrine tells us: Culture is pivotal to the British Army as an institution. We exist within an overarching culture, which is shaped by our shared history. As 1st The Queen’s Dragoon Guards celebrate St David’s Day on the 1st of March, we look at the importance of culture within all our organisations and shine a light on The Welsh Cavalry and their strong cultural and historical ties that reach back over 300 years.
